Pippin Drysdale

To coincide with the Australian Ceramics Triennale 2009, Michael Reid at Elizabeth Bay is pleased to be showcasing the works of internationally renowned ceramicist Pippin Drysdale.

A collection of her assemblages will be on view in the downstairs gallery for the duration of the Triennale. A major figure in Australian art Drysdale demonstrates her mastery of the medium by challenging the ceramic form towards its sculptural possibilities.

Inspired by extensive travel through the north-west region of Western Australia, her work reflects the geological, botanical and meteorological complexities of the area.

From the Burton St Exit: walk towards Kings Cross Station down Darlinghurst St as far as the bridge over William St. At the end of the bridge, cross the William St exit and turn right to cross Darlinghurst Rd to the Kings Cross Rd intersection. Walk up the left hand side of Kings Cross Rd, crossing Ward St, past the end of Bayswater Rd where it joins Roslyn St. Turn left into Roslyn St and then right into Roslyn Gardens. Keep going down Roslyn Gardens to find 44 on the right. [About 1200 metres from Burton St exit.]
