Beyond the Nullarbor
The Ceramic Arts Association of Western Australia inc.
The ceramic arts association was originally formed to organise and run the 9th Australian ceramics conference held in Perth during 1999. Since its inception the association has grown to become an umbrella organisation for ceramic practitioners and clubs in Western Australia.
Beyond the Nullarbor aims to show a snapshot of current ceramic practice in Western Australia. Exhibitors include established and emerging practitioners from a mix of city based and regional studios.
For many the Nullarbor represents a physical and emotional barrier to communication across Australia. The separation is viewed by some as an impediment to progress and by others as a stimulus for independent thinking and individual expression.
