Wheelforming with Takeshi Yasuda
Master Potter Takeshi Yasuda will demonstrate a wide range of wheelforming processes and bring to this workshop his personal and professional experience of Eastern and Western traditional and contemporary wheelforming. Make the most of this unique opportunity to learn from a world-class ceramicist. Open to all levels; selected work is bisque fired and stoneware clay is supplied.
Hand-building with Virginia Scotchie
Discover how ordinary objects can become extraordinary through dissection and reinterpretation of everyday materials. Visiting American ceramic artist Virginia Scotchie guides you to develop a new vocabulary of assembling and building clay sculptures using coil, slabs and pinching techniques. Explore the relationships between groups and sets of clay objects and the alternative surface possibilities of textured surfaces, metallic glazes, layering glazes and multiple firings. All clay supplied.
